Getzen Gold 5 Year Warranty
The Getzen Gold Five Year Warranty covers applicable Getzen models with a five-year, limited warranty against defects in workmanship and materials. Warranty coverage starts on the date of original retail sale or one year after original Getzen invoice date (whichever comes first).
If the instrument is determined by Getzen Company, Inc. to be defective in material or workmanship the Getzen Company, Inc. will, at its discretion, either repair or replace the defective parts/instrument. The determination of warranty coverage lies solely with Getzen Company, Inc. following a full inspection of the instrument in question.
This warranty does not cover deterioration of instrument parts or finishes caused by perspiration acids, corrosive atmosphere, and/or other external causes above and beyond normal usage. Failure to follow standard and accepted instrument care and maintenance can/will void this warranty.

Getzen Platinum Lifetime Warranty
The Getzen Platinum Lifetime Warranty covers all Custom and Custom Reserve Series instruments with a limited, lifetime warranty against defects in workmanship and materials.
If the instrument is determined by Getzen Company, Inc. to be defective in material or workmanship the Getzen Company, Inc. will, at its discretion, either repair or replace the defective parts/instrument. The determination of warranty coverage lies solely with Getzen Company, Inc. following a full inspection of the instrument in question.

Getzen Lifetime Piston Warranty
The Getzen Piston Warranty covers the pistons of all Getzen instruments against defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the instrument. Should any defects occur, Getzen will repair or replace the pistons at their discretion. Failure to follow standard and accepted instrument care and maintenance can/will void this warranty. This warranty only covers instruments manufactured after 1991.
If the pistons are determined by Getzen Company, Inc. to be defective in material or workmanship the Getzen Company, Inc. will, at its discretion, either repair or replace the defective pistons. The determination of warranty coverage lies solely with Getzen Company, Inc. following a full inspection of the instrument in question.
Failure to follow standard and accepted instrument care and maintenance can/will void this warranty.

Detailed Warranty Terms and Conditions
The Getzen Company, Inc. will repair or replace (at Getzen’s discretion) free of charge any part(s) found upon examination by Getzen to be defective in material or workmanship. The warranties do not cover instrument failure due to damage in transit, misuse, abuse, negligence of user, accidents, aftermarket alterations (such as cryogenic freezing), damage caused by ultrasonic cleaning, changing of factory valve settings, third party repairs, or any sort of investigative dismantling by unauthorized persons. The warranties do not extend to non-durable components such as, but not limited to, naturally worn finishes, rubber/plastic parts, valve springs, etc.
Lacquered instrument finishes on all instruments are covered for a period of no more than 3 years from the start of warranty coverage (original Getzen invoice date plus one year or date of original retail sale; whichever comes first). Crystallization, excessive lacquer breakdown, or any other lacquer defects that occur within the covered period should be reported to Getzen Company, Inc. immediately for evaluation. All other instrument finishes are covered under the terms of the applicable Getzen warranty unless otherwise stated. Instrument finishes are non-durable and must be treated as such. Players with high skin acidity should take preventative measures to ensure finish longevity. Getzen is not responsible for excessive finish wear caused by third-party ultrasonic cleaning, user neglect, misuse, damage, or alterations.
All warranty repairs must be pre-approved and shall be performed ONLY by the Getzen Company, Inc. or a Getzen-approved repair facility. Getzen Company, Inc. does not and will not warranty repair work performed by anyone other than Getzen. Getzen Company, Inc. assumes no responsibility and the warranties shall be void when any unapproved aftermarket modifications or damaging repairs have been made or attempted by others. This includes, but is not limited to, cryogenic freezing, ultrasonic cleaning, valve/piston modifications, or any other invasive customization.
Pistons, conventional rotors, and Axial Flow valves are subject to normal wear that is not covered under the Getzen Company, Inc. warranties. Piston/valve/rotor maintenance and upkeep are the sole responsibility of the user and should be performed regularly to ensure longevity. The Getzen Lifetime Piston Warranty covers only those instruments manufactured by Getzen Company, Inc. after 1991.
The Getzen Company, Inc. reserves the right to refuse any and all warranty claims if it is determined that any terms of the warranties have been violated. All warranties are transferable from original owner.
Instrument Owner’s Responsibilities
In order to ensure proper warranty coverage and timely service we ask you, as the original owner, to assume certain responsibilities:
- Be sure to retain your original proof of purchase
- Be sure to register your instrument with Getzen Company, Inc. Doing so will expedite any future warranty claim.
- If any defects or issues are discovered, notify your Getzen dealer or Getzen Company, Inc. directly as soon as possible.
- After a warranty claim is filed, Getzen Company, Inc. will provide you with a Return Authorization number and instructions on how to return your instrument to Getzen Company, Inc. or an authorized agent for inspection and repair.
