For years, manufacturers have launched higher end models to augment their lines. In most cases, however, these new instruments are nothing more than a slightly dressed-up version of an existing model with a fancy name and a higher price tag. We chose to take a different approach with the Getzen Custom Reserve line of instruments.
First came the 4047DS “Dualis Symphonica” Custom Reserve model in 2011 followed by the 4147IB “Ian Bousfield” model two years later. Both models introduced several first to Getzen design advancements, such as the revolutionary, patented Harmonic Pillar System. As the first instruments offered in the new Custom Reserve line, these two trombones rival anything offered by even the finest boutique shops. Conceived by and for the world’s most discerning trombonists.
